This model was created in Maya and then brought into Zbrush to be sculpted using JRO's Ornament Brush Pack before being baked and textured in Substance Painter. This project was done using a low poly/high poly workflow as to allow for game engine efficiency. The final images were rendered with Arnold Renderer in Maya using a single HDRI skydome for illumination.
This weapon was created using various fantasy and historical weapon references along with my desire to make something completely unique. I aimed for a stylized look as a fantasy sword, however I believe the best fantasy is a created using the perfect mixture of historical realism and stylized creativity. With this in mind, I designed the sword to look and feel functional yet also magical and epic.
